Account & Data Deletion Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
Delete your HikerStats account
You can request deletion of your HikerStats account and associated personal information. To request deletion, contact privacy@hikerstats.com from the email address associated with your account.
What happens when you delete your account?
A deleted account is first disabled and kept for 30 days so the deletion can be reversed if it was a mistake; deletion can also be applied immediately on request. After that period we delete or anonymize personal information associated with your account, subject to information that we are legally required or permitted to retain. This may include:
- account information;
- hiking records;
- locations;
- notes;
- preferences;
- connected integrations.
Some information may remain temporarily in backups or technical systems until those systems overwrite it according to our retention procedures.
Third-party services
Deleting your HikerStats account does not necessarily delete information held by third-party services such as Garmin or Strava. You should manage your data directly with those services where necessary.
Export your data
Where an export function is available, you can export your hiking data before deleting your account. If an export function is not available, contact privacy@hikerstats.com and request a copy of your personal information, subject to applicable law.
Verification
We may need to verify that an account deletion request was made by the account owner.
