Your data
HikerStats stores information about your hikes so you can analyse them over time. This may include:
- precise locations;
- GPS/activity data;
- sleep information;
- physical condition;
- injuries or illness;
- hiking behaviour;
- notes;
- other information you choose to provide.
HikerStats is not a backup service
Although we may use backups and other technical measures, you should not treat HikerStats as the sole storage location for information you cannot afford to lose. Keep your own copies of important hiking records and files.
Location data
Your hiking records may reveal where you travelled, slept, camped, or stayed. Consider carefully whether you want to store precise locations, particularly around private residences or other sensitive locations.
Administrative access
HikerStats has an administrative system used for support and technical maintenance. The operator may access user hiking records in read-only mode when reasonably necessary to:
- troubleshoot problems;
- investigate bugs;
- respond to support requests;
- investigate security issues;
- maintain the service.
This access is not intended for general browsing of users' data.
Account security
Use a strong, unique password and do not share your credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact privacy@hikerstats.com or contact@hikerstats.com.
Third-party services
HikerStats may depend on third-party services for hosting, authentication, storage, email, analytics, and activity integrations. The security and availability of those services are partly outside our control.
Security incidents
If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will take appropriate steps required by applicable law, including notification where required.
Responsible disclosure
If you discover a security vulnerability in HikerStats, please report it responsibly rather than exploiting it. Contact privacy@hikerstats.com and please provide enough information for the issue to be investigated.
