Frequently asked questions
Does HikerStats work without signal? Yes. On the mobile apps you can log a day fully offline; entries sync automatically once you are back online.
Do I have to enter distance and elevation by hand? No — you can import activity data from a supported service, or type the numbers in yourself.
Can I switch between kilometres and miles? Yes, per hike, and you can set a default in your profile together with your language.
What happens when I finish a hike? HikerStats builds an end-of-trail report with totals, charts and insights. You can reopen a finished hike to keep editing.
Is my data private? Your hikes are visible only to you. See the Privacy Policy and Data & Security.
Your account
You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app: sign in and go to Profile → Delete account. Details on what is removed and when are in the Account & Data Deletion Policy. If you cannot sign in, email privacy@hikerstats.com from your account address.
Supported integrations
- Strava — distance, moving time, elevation gain and loss, average speed.
- Apple Health — hiking workouts from the iPhone app: distance, time, ascent and descent.
- Automatic weather — enter your start and end location and the day's temperature, rain and wind are filled in from historical weather records.
- Manual entry — type the numbers in yourself, no device required.
- Garmin Connect — activity import is in the works and not yet available.
Imported activity data always stays editable, and everything subjective — trail conditions, sleep, food, company and how the day felt — is logged by you.
